2014 - 2024

FREELANCE ARTIST / GRAPHIC DESIGNER

I am currently working as an artist & freelance designer from my art studio and office at home. Because I work for myself, I am available to start work immediately if required.

I have been creating illustrations, logos, marketing materials, album / DVD cover designs and digital art prints using Procreate on my iPad pro, Illustrator, Indesign & Photoshop. You can view my current design work on my instagram page @nicmacdesigns.

I am passionate about art and design and have had over 15 years' professional experience as a graphic designer. I thrive on the challenge to innovate new designs and capturing what a client is looking for within their time constraints and budget. I enjoy brainstorming, presenting ideas and working individually or with a team of people on projects of any size or scale. With a flexible, proactive attitude I am able to establish a good rapport with people in a friendly, professional way and are attentive to peoples needs. I work hard and will give what ever it takes in order to meet tight deadlines using my initiative and judgement.

2010 - 2013

GRAPHIC / MULTIMEDIA DESIGNER - STHREE

I was the sole graphic designer working on all the Internal Communication design work within the head office of this corporate, multi-national recruitment company. They recruit for high-end jobs across the world and have 51 offices across 12 countries with 4 differently branded companies.

I was responsible for designing all of the internal newsletters, email templates, posters, conference materials such as exhibition stands and powerpoint template designs.

I also came up with new concept ideas, strap-lines and logo designs for programmes, designing full suites of printed materials for brochures, posters corresponding intranet graphics and email blasts.

I also played a big part in designing a new identity branding to promote the SThree company values worldwide. This work was rolled out across all platforms i.e. graphics for the i!ntranet, a flash video, printed brochures through to large pieces of art on the office walls.


2008 - 2010

MULTIMEDIA DESIGNER - NATMAG RODALE, RUNNER’S WORLD MAGAZINE

I redesigned the menu bar navigation, icons, colour palette, fonts and headers for Runner’s World www.runnersworld.co.uk and Triathlete’s World www.triathletesworld.co.uk
 websites. 

I worked closely with the advertising and sales team, producing a full range of cross platform, interactive assets such as printed magazine pages, web advertorials, campaign email blasts, MPUs, skyscrapers and banners for client marketing campaigns using Photoshop, HTML, CSS, Flash and video clips.

I liaised with the corporate clients and charities that I undertook design work for, such as Lucozade Sport, Nike, Garmin, Saab, Timex, Men’s Health magazine, Harrods, Macmillan, Marie Curie and CRUK.

I designed from concept to completion and maintained the race partner websites www.hellrunner.co.uk and the online micro-site www.rwpromo.co.uk.

I built interactive route maps using Flash for the London Marathon www.rwpromo.co.uk/flm/flm_map2009.html and I created media packs for Runner’s World, Triathlete’sWorld and the Fetch Everyone websites.

I also designed online and printed invitations for the Heroes of Running annual awards event.
