Nicola Macmillan is an experienced graphic designer and lead artist of Nic Mac Design Studios with over 20 years of experience working both as a freelancer and within various companies. She specialises in creating unique logos, advertising materials, illustrated documents, and web designs. Her passion lies in collaborating closely with clients and teams to develop designs that are not only visually captivating but also emotionally intelligent, effectively conveying the important messages clients want to share.

Nicola’s mission is to create modern, authentic designs that stand out and provoke thought, always keeping the heart of the message at the forefront. With a keen eye for detail, she ensures her designs are not just aesthetically pleasing but purposeful and impactful.

Previously, Nicola served as the sole graphic designer in the Internal Communications department at global recruitment company SThree, where she provided a wide range of design assets for 51 offices and international conferences. From logo designs and brochures to banners and intranet assets, her work supported a global network of employees and clients.

Before that, Nicola was the multimedia designer at Runner’s World Magazine, where she worked on interactive and animated web designs, printed advertorial pages, and email blasts using Adobe Suite tools like Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Nicola has also had the opportunity to work with charities focusing on mental health issues and learning disabilities for adults, where she brought her design skills to projects that aimed to raise awareness and support these important causes. This experience has further fueled her desire to transition into the field of humanitarian design, where she can continue to use her expertise to support organisations that make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

Now, Nicola is looking to focus on creating designs that not only look beautiful but also serve a greater purpose, helping organisations make a lasting impact through thoughtful, community-focused work.
